Royal City Centre
New Westminster, British Columbia

Goodman Real Estate, in partnership with the Blackstone Group, purchased Royal City Centre, an enclosed shopping mall in the uptown neighborhood of New Westminster, B.C. New Westminster is the oldest established commercial center in the region and was British Columbia's first capital. Royal City Centre is the primary shopping destination in the community and represents an ideal repositioning opportunity. Built in 1992 and situated at the intersection of New Westminster's two main retail streets, the Centre is a 358,399 square foot contemporary mixed-use urban development. The exterior is beautifully finished with tinted glass entries and windows, brick trim, and stucco walls, and the central mall area opens to natural light from skylights. The building is comprised of two floors with a Safeway store located on the parking level. The ground level is 100% retail and the second floor is a combination of retail and office use. The Centre is additionally anchored by Zeller's Department Store, Shopper's Drug Mart, and the Bank of Montreal. Two residential high-rise condominium towers have been built above Royal City Centre and GRE is working to develop a third condominium tower on the mall.
